What's the Latest on the Georgetown Branch Project
Our specialized consultants are now 'on board', and have joined the Georgetown Branch Planning Committee.
Our Project Manager, Mr. Mahendra Shah of The MMM Group is in the process of developing a detailed Project Charter, to ensure that the work proceeds as expected, and that the project remains on schedule and within budget.
We will be working with our Interior Designers, Ella Mamiche and Nihan Basak of ZAS Interiors to develop a design concept that will guide us in the choice of colours, floor and wall treatments, furnishings and fitments, etc. We have a workshop planned for March 30th where all staff will have an opportunity to contribute to this process.
We are developing our detailed floor plans with the architect through a staff-based group called the “Form Meets Function Committee”.
We are determining what kind of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system we will incorporate—we are considering a number of energy efficient options including geothermal.
We are confirming the details associated with the Holy Cross Church and Rectory, which will function as our temporary site. Aligning the schedules will be our greatest challenge.
And finally, we will be exploring the infrastructure funding available through the federal and provincial governments once the guidelines for the various programs are released (they are expected by April).
